The festival in all about support local producers and business's.
Many of the Bruny Island & Kingborough business's have generously supported us for many years.  Please repay this generosity and support our sponsors and donors.

The Festival HQ at Adventure Bay Hall  will have many of the events and we shall have various food and drink vendors on site throughout the festival.

FRIDAY

A Great Breakfast at Great Bay

Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October. 7.30am- 8.30am

Feeling peckish? Join the flock at Eden Home Farm, for a farm style breakfast to kick of your day of birding magic. The breakfast location is the starting point for several guided walks exploring this private Great Bay bird haven (separate booking required), yet even if you are not continuing on to one of these walks, you are very welcome to make this a tasty start to your day.

The breakfast is being hosted by Richard Clarke and Anna Bluck of Bruny Island Game Meats.

Directions: 1771 Bruny Island Main Road, Great Bay. The entrance to the property is midway between the Bruny Island Cheese Co. and Get Shucked. Look out for the Bird festival flag and the sign to Eden Home Farm and follow the signs to the top paddock. Plenty of parking available.
Cost: $15 per adult ($10 per child 12yr and under ) 

Welcome Gathering BBQ & Festival Opening

Friday 19th from 5:00pm
Festival marquee, Adventure Bay Hall area
Cost: $15 for great food. Licensed event - no BYO. Bookings essential

Join us for the first evening of the Bird Festival and a community welcome barbeque.  This is a lovely time to mill around and banter with a gathering throng of fellow bird and nature lovers.  We shall begin with a ‘Welcome to Country’, followed by a brief speech to officially open the festival and welcome you all.  A relaxed and informal BBQ will follow before the Orange Bellied Parrot event commences in the Adventure Bay hall
Time: From 5pm for the opening, 5.30 for the BBQ and bird count, 6.30pm for the start of the film BOOK HERE

COFFEE VAN
Long Black Jack Coffee will be at the Adventure Bay HQ for the three first days of the festival providing fantastic coffee and Kombucha to the birding throngs.  Damien sells reusable cups, but if you bring your own, he will donate 30c to bird conservation for each cup.

The Bruny School will be selling a selection of delicious wraps at lunch time at Adventure Bay HQ

All day at Adventure Bay Hall - The wonderful food of the Van Demons Food Truck will be available.

MONDAY

Departure Breakfast at Adventure Bay Hall

Monday 22nd, 8:30am
$10 Adult - Child free
Join us for a final community breakfast at the Festival HQ.  Over the course of the Bruny Bird Festival you will hopefully have made many new friendships.  This breakfast is a lovely chance to swap contact details and plan future birding days out with your new like minded lovers of nature.  Many festival volunteers, speakers, and guides involved in the festival will be here if you have been hoping for a chance to catch up with someone or ask just one more question...

You are welcome to bring along your own breakfast supplies for us to cook - no charge. BOOK HERE

Gourmet Food & Wine Outlets

One of the delights of visiting Bruny Is is the opportunity to sample all the renowned and fabulous gourmet food products grown or made on the island.

Just off the ferry are the delectable pies and muffins at the Robert Point kiosk, freshly baked every day. Followed soon after by the Bruny Island House of Whiskey a fully licensed bistro & bottle shop and producer of award winning smoked produce.  

Turning north to Dennes Point, you will find the Jetty Cafe with fantastic coffee and light meals.


At Great Bay be sure to call in at Get Shucked Oysters for your supply of fresh Bruny Is oysters or a tempting platter and wine at their oyster bar. The famous Bruny Island Cheese Co is practically next door where you can sample not only amazing cheeses but the best crusty bread and pizzas straight from the wood fired oven and wonderful Bruny Island Beer. 

For those with a sweet tooth do not miss the Bruny Island Chocolate Company factory outlet soon after the turnoff to Adventure Bay. Here you will find a mouthwatering range of handmade chocolate fudges, truffles and chocolate sauces. You can sample before you buy and the shelves are laden with tempting goodies.

Further into Adventure Bay in an idyllic valley setting overlooking beautiful Two Tree Point beach, The Bruny Island Berry farm has a large selection of fresh berries when in season and always features delicious waffles, scones, pancakes or muffins along with some savoury options for a tempting light meal. 

Bruny Island Premium Wines can be found further south at Lunawanna. It is in fact Australia's southernmost vineyard. Here you can enjoy sampling the award winning wines and savour a tasty meal in the Bar & Grill.
